WHO WE ARE

Rock The Box is a creation of Best: Experiential Properties. Best: Experiential Properties is a mutli-million dollar company that has extensive expertise in hosting athletic competitions around the country. Their properties include notable competitions such as Hoop It Up 3v3, Kick It 3v3, and Let It Fly 4v4. Our Event Director, Greg Martinez, has over 8 years experience with the Colorado Mammoth as the video and equipment manager and three years of playing experience with Senior B Lacrosse in Vancouver, B.C.

WHAT IS ROCK THE BOX?

Rock The Box is a 20 city Box Lacrosse tour that will be hosting events in several of the National Lacrosse League cities as well as adding many other cities to help promote the sport of Box Lacrosse. We will be using portable rinks (approx. 130 feet by 70 feet) to play box lacrosse outside on grass or turf fields. The tour began with an exhibition at the 2010 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Championship in Baltimore, MD from May 29th-31st during Memorial Day Weekend.

The tour will demonstrate how simple and fun the sport can be. We will do so by setting up a 5v5 tournament style event allowing four field players and one goalie per team. The set up will allow the players to experience the many things that Box Lacrosse offers like more opportunities for action, scoring, playing, and excitement while developing skills. The development of Box Lacrosse in the United States will also allow for lacrosse players to play year round without the interruption of weather.

The Rock The Box tour is available to both genders of almost all ages. Each tournament event consists of two one-day tournaments. The tournament will be broken down by age group with Under-9, Under-11, Under-13, Under-15, High School Gold, High School Silver, Open (College/Club), and Over-33 (Men's Masters only). Day 1 of the event is a Youth Day Tournament (U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15) and Day 2 is for High School, College, Open and Masters age groups.

One of the best benefits for the athletes is that they do not need any different equipment. The equipment is held to the same standard as field lacrosse and we provide the goalie equipment for the teams. We also conduct all operations of the event all the way from administration to officiating. As we are also providing the rink, with all necessary safety features, all we need is an outdoor facility to host the event.
